the task begins

the focus of my life for the next two months will revolve around two things.
my project and its report.

thought the snow will help me want to move out of here quickly. instead its holding me back .. making me want to do things like snowboarding.
the next day of my defense i plan to enjoy completely on the slopes of mount ripley having fun snowboarding.

So Im working and decide to listen to some music. iTunes got me sharing music from others on the school net. Saw some fabulous collections of classical music.

Next you know Im listening to symphony 9 in B minor .....

Now oblivious to the music I start working .... and suddenly I feel scared so i look up and theres nothing. A few minutes down the line I get the same feeling again I look up .. to find no one as expected.

Thats when I realized I have watched a bit too murder mysteries and horror movies with classical songs for the climax !!!

I was actually getting that feeling from the music ...

Do I blame the music? or the director for his choice of music for the scene ????

Anyways I just wont be able to appreciate the intensity of the 4th chord in the 6th symphony in C sharp.

A dirty PT cruiser and French Vanilla

So I finally got to drive in the snow .... yay .. and whoaaaa ... last year greenville never had snow n the year before i didnt have money to drive a car :P

Passing is a strict risk you need to take only when u get bored of wiping all the snow off ur screen..

The french vanilla was warm throughout the drive and even refilled at a couple of stations ..... 5 hours in the UP where the speeds max only to 55 :( ... but luckily no cops .. so .. :D

Had a weekend with family downstate ... had some fun and some rest .. back to work now. :)

Wish I was at State ... could have supported the spartans without the guilt of having a stupid team.... but hey ... on the bright side ... they lost !!! :P hehehe

Its like getting hot!

So this weeks physics lab invovled getting the students on a platform that rotated.
As the students brought their initially stretched out arms closer to themselves their speed of rotation increased. Nice fun lab.

Even I enjoyed this trippy spin during lab reviews.

Enter IC... a student (18)... who finished his lab 25 mins in hand...
"eh? do you mind if i have an extra spin at it?"...
me:"sure go on !!"
IC:trips on a spin .. LAO ... and then .. "Dude this is like getting hot!!"
me:ROTFLLAO !!
IC:"not that i know of it !!"
me:still ROTFL....

So... Conclusion of lab. Physics is like getting hot.

Chirkut

I got dragged into this thing called orkut by a friend of mine, a very good friend of mine...its like an obsolete version of facebook, for those who live in the latest technology.

and for those like me who got dragged into this ... its a website where a person creates his ID and gets in touch with his pals through their IDs, kinda like IMs on website .. and u can jump from your home to others and send scraps and stuff..

Its really nice .. you like it till u get in touch with all the people in the world... You see even the theory of "Six degrees of separation" really works in this orkut thing.... i got lots of friend's friends who are friends of some other friends of some other friend of mine ... so in all we look at each other on this site and yay to each other ....

I even realised I could be a friends friends friends friend who might be the relative of mahatma gandhis sons wife's sister's brother in law... and i yay again...

At greenville in the evenings we would use orkut to while away time and anyone found on orkut would be termed chirkut .. as in the movies .. the bollywood ones... where the smartass roadie hero would come and "wassup" the sidekick by saying "aye chirkut kya dekhrela hai"

Today I took orkut really seriously and turned my ID into Veejay Dinanath Chauhan! Haayin!

Elevator Raves

My school recently had a bunch of students so bored that they plugged in their laptops and a storbe light in the elevators during non office hours and kept on dancing all the night, as the elevator rode up and down bringing helping grad students reach their labs and offices to and fro.
They called it Elevator Raves or summat like that.

They had an argument to it too....

It saves energy as they arent at their individual rooms consuming their own power
It brightens the moods of stressed out grad students
Its a cool place where the cops wont show up to keep it low.

If only I had time like that.... I would have definitely gone to the gym daily....

Ive had a couple of innocent pals who wudnt know what they r doing and just install stuff on the pc ......

my bro even thought the 100 different smilies were cool and he insisted i shud get em ...
not that i blame the smilies for it .. but soon enough my bros pc crashed ..

I hate a pc crash .. like any other person does ...

and I hate to wait for ages till the window is switched over ...
guys .. we dont need to crash all pcs .....weve got one down and now everyones workin on the other one in the office .. which now plays songs in packets of 5 seconds at a frequency of 1.5 packets per minute.

I have a Wallpaper in my Window

I know I know everyone has .... but everyone has a wallpaper in windows Here Im talking bout my window.

The bright orangish yellowish 5 pointed leaves that look into my face while I type this really make it worth staying up here in houghton,MI. Some may say whats so special bout the fall in Houghton? or Houghton? well for one.. I experienced my First Fall in Houghton.

My complete 5ft by 7ft glass window is covered by a tree thats brighter than govindas brightest shirt. And it even lets me look beyond to the other trees that are a mix of green yellow orange and red.

I remember a girl had once enquired about my university as she wanted to enroll here. She never even applied to this univ after my reply started like this: " If you ever want to create your own wallpapers for your desktop, pack your camera and apply to this university..."

This is Houghton. This is where it all begin at for me.......

kinda rough mornings when i had to get up at 6 to reach the gym a new begining
a strong desire to purchase 295 $ per 2 tickets to the U2 concert
a potluck to celebrate dassera ...
a weekend spent playing age of empires on the lan with my roomie.
a weekend which didnt give me any break so far

proved I can goof up simple things like signing up on time .....

had an offer of signing up for a campus interview with a great company ....
what do i have to do for the job? graduate out in time.

So on a darned friday evening basically the whole night... i slog out with my advisor till right now .. ( 3:32 am) forgetting all about the sign up that was scheduled to start at 12 am not that i had forgotten but I cudnt ask my advisor hey hold on while I do this ..

And here I am just about to think what a nice day this was when i see all the interview slots full........

Fate you play the sickest jokes on me....

*Updated: Have got an interview lined up and I wasnt the only one who missed out... They had offered an interview to more number of students than the slots available .. that was the issue.
