I tried... but Im an Indian

The urge to eat some delicious, some spicy, some hot food just couldnt be sustained.

Today, I tried not to eat any of the junk food, of course, I could have tried to cook, but lately since last year, this habit is as rare as the balding eagle, I have almost literally stopped cooking. I need to get back to cooking, but cooking our food here leaves a very pungent odor on everything. The clothes smell, the body smells, even the hair. I know I know in India we rarely have the pleasures of quarantining the entire Kitchen, but the fact is in India everything and everybody cooks Indian food. Which is of course plainly called as food in India. But the point is where everything is the same there is rarely any distinction in the olfactory senses. But here even a pinch of turmeric and you will find the Generally-Minding-His-Own-Space-Gora ask you "You an Indian? You just had Indian Food?" in the Lift. Its not the goras that Im really bothered about. Its my own smell, It smells not just different, it makes me feel foodsick throughout the day unless I have a bath with some really strong stuff like Old-Spice and rid me off the curry on me.

I need to come up with a solution to the smelly cooking. I saw my friends came up with a simple one of having the lid closed immediately after adding the spices. But the smells stays. It Stays.. reminding me of the not so great cooking talent that I possess and how it was bliss back in India with my Ma.

On an ending note: Once when I was a small kid my Ma was really frustrated with me getting in all sorts of trouble at home. She Warned that if I keep on getting into trouble She will leave Home and go far away. To which I asked.. "Who will cook me food then?"
Poor Ma she didnt know better to slap me or to laugh at me.

My New Karmic Discovery of the Week.

+ + =

When I was a Michigander, and that too from UP where you could get the original stuff for as cheap as free, I ignored it, and now Im a self confessed fan of Maple Syrup. This combination almost makes me smack my lips everyday.

Heres to a healthy start of the day. Cheerios + Maple Syrup + Milk = Blisssh

days are going slower

I know I know. It was just last week when I was in the Rockies. But I still think the days are going wayyyyy to slow.

LIstening to
Agar Tum Mil Jaon... in a nice slow tempo, the song is actually damn neat. Hmmmmm

Scientist guys at the atomic time center, can u rush up time for me real quick?

This is way too ironic, hilarious, sad and one of those happens-only-in-india things.

Calgary, Canada

Diwali

So .. Diwali showed up, It is the season of lights, joy, fun, food

And I did get to have lights, fun n food. And a nice drive to Greenville to meet up old pals. Its been quite a while since I have been there. Old memories come up, feels nice. But still there was something missing......yes..... the snow, last 2 diwalis have been back in Houghton on a Large no make that Grand scale, with about 200 ppl coming together, eating stuff, enjoying dances and stuff. Man Why do we miss something once we are out of it? Is that the nature of things? To first hate the situation you are in, then miss it, miss it so badly that youd actually want to get back into that situation? Gvl was fun, and its once place Id love to be in .... if given a chance ever...

On a different note, SM is back home, that means call frequency drops, things go different. But thats fine, its just a matter of 2 months starting from tomorrow....before life takes a different turn. :)

This weekend someone reminded I dished out a lot of fundae about Life to any junta in and around a 2 mtr radius... Yeah .. well its always fun preaching ... its a challenge living the life you preach. Life is a full of surprises. I hate it that even now I m not all that independent and some aspects of my life are still controlled by others, and by fate. I hate it that I have to answer for things that look like a clear outline of MY responsibilities when in a complex circle it is actually still dependent on other factors.

Well Diwali was here and has gone by, but it brings hope, respect, love, joy, food and most of it all, its one season where every ends up being happy.

I love being Happy, and wish everyone is happy.

Simple Man - Shinedown

Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.
And if you do this
It will help you some sunny day.

Take your time... Don't live too fast,

Troubles will come and they will pass.
Go find a woman and you'll find love,
And don't forget son,
There is someone up above.

And be a simple kind of man.
Be something you love and understand.
Be a simple kind of man.
Won't you do this for me son,
If you can?

Forget your lust for the rich man's gold
All that you need is in your soul,
And you can do this if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

Boy, don't you worry... you'll find yourself.
Follow you heart and nothing else.
And you can do this if you try.
All I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

Get to hear this song very oftenly on 105.3 or 96.1, Been listening to radio these days, Speakers in the Car dont work. I just love this song. More on it later. Time to sleep

Lukkha, Vella

(n)
It means a person with loads of time in hand and nothing to do.

At one time during my graduation, the thesis confusion would so engross me that I was almost literally lukkha. This is the result of being lukkha: Prerna

Before this long time back about 5 years back, two girls thought I was lukkha. One got a pat reply that could fail her conscience in judging people the rest of the life, the other ... well shes soon going to be spending the rest of her life with me :)

In short, Beware of Lukkhas. They sometimes stick to u for ever.

aha

So I had not posted for a long time. Dunno Why.
Just didnt get the time to blog, didnt feel like writing anything, so on and so on.

Of late I got a speeding ticket, my first, stupid pandu gave me 2 points :((.
Also saw Munnabhai lageraho. its a nice flick. worth a watch. mebbe 2. Arshad Warsi is hilarious. Bhai radio pe shirt thodi dikhaayi degi.

So far on an intellectual level nothing. nada... oh yea ....learning spanish.

Been learning spanish as thats the only language of the people at work. So I get to know their language and try to use it on my own. Pratish my colleague has decided to learn spanish too. He believes he already knows spanish. heres him saying "did you understand?" in spanish "understandO?". a simple O behind every word makes it spanish instantly according to him.

I need a haricut. a coffee. some breakfast. and a nice good morning hug n kiss. unfortunately my roommate can drive me to barbers, make a coffee and a breakfast. but he doesnt qualify for the hug n kiss.

ramblings of an idiot

Posting after a long hiatus.
Not that I had really gone anywhere. Just didnt have the time. then didnt have the internet. and now again dont have the time.

Well actually have loads of time. in the evening that is. Am in a southern suburb of Atlanta or as they call it A-town. Weathers ok not really great. place is ok. but i do something exciting every day. I work :).

yeah well wats in new that? a lot of people have been working. Mankind has been working for ages. But for a fresh graduate who was out searching a job for 3 months, to get the opportunity to work is a great thing. So I aint gonna give up on that. I enjoy that.

its Kinda funny that when I was really desparate I wasnt getting any close to it. When I almost gave up saying I aint gonna get what I wanna do and so was about to take up something really not my types, I got this offer, And I took it, Jumped on it, dived into it. And then suddenly some other place I had tried decides to offer me and then another :) its nice to know things work but its the timing thats important.

To those out there who still say have it tough I wish you all the best for your dreams.

Promising artist I may say. Or may be like toploader with the one hit song.

I have a statistics counter to see how people end up at my site. Russell Peter gets the highest visitors to my site. May be it was because I had his spelling wrong. But whatever... the guys gonna hurt somebody soon ;)

Super Sleuth Part Deux: Indians Invented Bling Bling

Our super sleuth is back again. This time he met with a man, a superstylin pimpin desi who is just fed up with our other colored brothas for flicking things. Our sleuth discovered something that may shake the entire fashiondom from detroit to atlanta and miami to california.

INDIANS INVENTED BLING BLING

Thats right fellow desis. We have just discovered that Indians invented the fashion thats now taking the world over as gangsta style. And we have an interview with the man who claims the credit should actually go to him for inventing Bling Bling.

None other than our own.... Ba ba ba Bappppppppiiiiiiii Lahiriiiiiiii.

Yes. Our very own stylish personality from desh. The pimpin hero of the sindhis. The wadhiya wadhiya President of the USA of the east ... Ulhasnagar Sindhi Association.
Here we now speak to Bappi Lahiri ji. or as he fondly wants to be called as Bee-ji.

Us: So Bee-ji would you like to explain in detail your claim about gangsta style?
Bee-ji: Oy wadi saayin. When Iyin went to dubayin Iyin wanted to buyin Gold. Gold and more Gold. Aur wadi customs always interfered. So Iyin started myin own style. Iyin wore all my gold.
Us: But then why did you keep wearin all the jewels???
Bee-ji: Oy wadi saayin, aur karta bhi kya? Customs ne kaha itna kyu pehna? Meine kehdiyaan dhis is my style. So customs ne dhamki diyaan. Said we will keep an eyein on you.
Us: Oh now we see.
Bee-ji: he he.. wadi jabh Iyin go to dubai Iyin used to wear 3 chains and 2 bracelets less and when Iyin came back I would buyin more and bring it in. Iyin did more dhanda doing this than singing.
Us: Thats nice Bappi da, oh sorry, Bee-ji. Which brings us to our next question. Now that you have proved your credentials Behind gangsta style and bling bling what are your plans?
Bee-ji: Oy wadi saayin.. What can Iyin do? Those guys. They beat me at my own game. First they stole my nice nice song Kaliyon ka Chaman. Now myin style And they say its artistic inspiration. But Iyin tell you Iyin invented Bling Bling. hey that can be a new song eh? Blingggg Bling pehnooo.... Blingggg Bling pehnooo ... Bling Bling
Us: uh huh .. Thats nice sir ji. Which brings us to the next question why do you like to be called Bee-ji? Is it also any artistical inspiration or a subliminal message?
Bee-ji: Oyy wadi saayin what are talkin? Bee-ji is myin original style. Myin name is Bappi Lahiri... people used to calle me Bappi Lahiri Ji. That was too heavy you know. So Iyin shortened myin name to Bee for bappi Bee-ji. Gaatit?
Us: Oh yeah ... yeah .. Duh us. Anyways Thanks a lot sir, for being brave and willing to fight against these people who stole your style and call it inspirational. Bling - Bling gangsta style is truly yours.
Bee-ji: Thank you Saayin. Wadi You want pappad?

And here is the proof that our team has procured, We got both pics here:

Out of his cap.

He’s finally out of his cap fellows!!

Yes we got a special feature for all of you

Himesh Reshammiya is none other than the qawalli star of the 90's Altaf Raja

You heard it right. Himesh is Altaf. Altaf is Himesh. Reshammiya is Raja and Raja is Reshammiya.

This scoop of the century, bigger than the "da vinci code" being the truth, was found out by our correspondent when he cornered Himesh at a party where he was abusing the elite for abusing the rickshawallahs of India.

On further probing and questioning and a truth serum administering Himesh broke down and confessed that he is Altaf Raja.

We bring to you an interview with the self confessed Himesh Altaf Reshammiya Raja. or HARR as we shall further refer to him as

Us: So HARR can you please tell us why , how and when did this happen????

HARR: I was angry that my music was only appreciated by the rickshawallahs of India. Greed got into me as I wanted my music to be appreciated by a better lot. I wanted recognition for my music. I wanted to be accepted by the elite as not just a rickshawallah jester but as the crowd puller. I wanted the Dance bars to play my music I wanted Cabbies to play music I want Bus drivers to play music. I wanted to go on a bigger platform (CST was my ultimate aim). And I want World Peace

Us: hmm So we can understand you have achieved all that you wanted but how World Peace?

HARR: Youuuu seee my crooooning has got all the leaders of the world united against meeeee.

Us: Oh right. Now can you tell us some more about the killing of the AR persona and the emergence of HR.

HARR: Yes Yes. See I went underground (not to the bhais … even they are after me now) But I went underground. Stayed off publicity, cropped a beard, donned a cap and then came back as HR in 3-4 years.

Us: So which one do you prefer being HR AR??

HARR: ooooohhh my singing and talent comes from AR and my publicity comes from HR… you see my astrologer he asked me to have two mms..

Us: you mean the candy?

HARR: No No … Two mms in my name. like namme. I also decided to use this strategy in all of my life … I now have a maruuuutiiiiiii and I also tried renaming the program as saaaa reee gaaaa maaa paaaaaa

Us: well thanks for giving us the inside scoop about AR. We always had our doubts but now you have confirmed it. Thanks once again

HARR: yoooooooooouuuuuuuu arrrrrrrrrrree welcommmmmmme

Ya ali !!

Now listening to Ya ali ..... gangster ...
my pcs back :) :)
and my data is in tact !!!

updates

Listening to "tu hi meri shab hai" gangster.
Last week as I defended my laptop gave up on me at the very same time i finished my defense. So there I was. Had nothing to do and my pc had crashed on me. Nothing to do.
That just gave me time to catch up on some reading. Finished Dan browns digital fortress and angels and demons. Had been wanting to read something since a long time. My wish was so perfectly granted. It rained here for 4 days consecutively. :)

yes yes we had some milk in the fridge to make all the coffees I drank while reading the books by the window. the rain hitting on the window... hitting? oh yeah .. it was so cold the rain was more like ice :) .. double yay ... it started snowing finally last night. Perfect atmosphere. me in my comforter with these books and the coffee and the rain. Now that this week and the slumber is over.... a new task dawns upon me. a new challenge. getting a job.

Hopefully I should be able to get over that one too.

back to the movies now....

Detroit plans on hold till I get my pc back. which is tentatively today :)

long day getting over i guess :) long year just got over. whats in a day.

Arrgghhhhhh Word!!!

I know I should have been using Latex but I didnt really have the time to do so neither did my advisor much fancy it ...

Then I thought what the heck if word screws up on me I can use openoffice but naaah ... openoffice is still not the preferred one by my advisor. So here I am instead of punching out the 3rd draft trying to figure out what the heck is the deal with word and these self setting fonts.

Damn Im just forced to use one pc now and there as well Word just changes the font on its own bloddy whim. Somebody tell Bill Gates, that softwares a messed up peice of sh*t.

Happy Birthday Dada

Its my Big Bro's Birthday today !!! yay he turns a whole 30 now !!! feel like showing him the friends episode where everyone turns 30......

Sent him a mail yesterday. He called up today. Bechara ussikey Birthday pe this is the 4th or 5th time that he has to call up to get his wishes. And the last few years have been even messier for him. Now he calls up Ma n Bhabhi in India and then he has to call me up here and then he has to call up Bhabhis parents and stuff. Why you ask? well its not like we bunch dont believe in calling people, its just that he happens to be on some ship every this time of the year. Yup tats my bro, sailing his life having fun, missing his family and celebrating his birthdays in oceans with some philipinos.

So he called me today n i cudnt get the first call as I was in the .. yup u guessed it right. Next he calls up and we speak for some time. Yeda that he is... he misses the stupid pens that i gave him on his buddays and the greeting cards that i got for him. Been a real long time since Ive sent him a greeting card. Been a real long time that I've really got to be like I was back home.

Some trivia about my bro.

As seen by the world: Silent, mature, serious, cool, happening (with most of my cousins), trusted by all, Cute, sometimes even hot (a lot of gals used to say this .. god knows where they came from), everyones favorite, hardworking, studious, very tolerant (handles me for life), always being disturbed by me while studying, always being troubled by me, poor soul.

As seen by me: evil, conniving shaana who put up that mask so the world could hate me, not even one bit of what the world thinks of him when its just him and me, always the first one to hit me when alone, always the first one to start up a fight yet convince the world that I started it, got high temper that mysteriously disappears when in front of the world, pure sheer devil at work when with me, and not one bit hot or cute, but yeah tolerates me and loves me.

So here you go dada..... Happy Birthday Dude....

ha!!

Bono ... step aside ... Ima be the next bono !!!
:D :P how i wish ... was sh*t scared when I was singing to 50 people today...

YEAAAHH baby !!!

I sang ...
I totally screwed up dooba dooba rehta hu .. but thats partly because the piano was playing at a higher volume than the voice and everyone was asking me to change that ... hehehe .. n me no sound engineer...

who am i kidding .. im no singer either .. i shudnt have been on that stage in the first place ... but it seems i do understand my timing of when to sing a song .. just cant remember my lyrics .. can u beat that .. a guy who had no clue of the lyrics singing a song ...

hahaha .. anyways the experience totally kicked ass....

Maruthi ..sang dama dam masst kalandar .. and boy he sure does know his singing...I heard his song and that just brought me up .. I was feeling a lot better..and more confident and well composed....

next song I sang was Pal by KK .. now I dont have no great voice or great talent and I really cant be a good critic of meself :D ... but i think Pal did turn out great..... really nice .. at least to me :P.... mebbe more than a days practice would have really helped .. and a practice with lyrics would have helped even more .. but hey !!! I kicked ass !!!

tell me you.... critic of mine !! how many people do u know .... are foolish enough to go on stage and sing in front of 50 people ....their first singing stint based on a one day practice....

U2 -- Walk On

And love is not the easy thing
The only baggage you can bring...
And love is not the easy thing...
The only baggage you can bring
Is all that you can't leave behind

And if the darkness is to keep us apart
And if the daylight feels like it's a long way off
And if your glass heart should crack
And for a second you turn back
Oh no, be strong

Walk on, walk on
What you got, they can't steal it
No they can't even feel it
Walk on, walk on
Stay safe tonight...

You're packing a suitcase for a place none of us has been
A place that has to be believed to be seen
You could have flown away
A singing bird in an open cage
Who will only fly, only fly for freedom

Walk on, walk on
What you got they can't deny it
Can't sell it or buy it
Walk on, walk on
Stay safe tonight

And I know it aches
And your heart it breaks
And you can only take so much
Walk on, walk on

Home...hard to know what it is if you never had one
Home...I can't say where it is but I know I'm going home
That's where the heart is

I know it aches
How your heart it breaks
And you can only take so much
Walk on, walk on

Leave it behind
You've got to leave it behind
All that you fashion
All that you make
All that you build
All that you break
All that you measure
All that you steal
All this you can leave behind
All that you reason
All that you sense
All that you speak
All you dress up
All that you scheme...

*dedicated to you. Im gonna miss you this one month real badly. Have your vaction fast n come back.

Whats your Caffeine???

java/coffe/caffeine
soda/mountaindew/caffeine

Origami

this is what we generally think of origami...
beautiful paper ..
beautiful folds ...
cool result ....

but I just found out a new meaning to the word something thats gonna change the meaning of the word for a long time to come.

Microsoft Origami .. a new project a PDA, tablet pc, mp3 player .. all in one .. the video .. found here has a real cool sound to it and the ad's like a small story told which meets a completeness in the end. Nice theme, Nice Video, Nice sound...

Im tempted to buy the product .. but its too bulky for an mp3 player .. i definitely cant take it with me for a jog...but for a tablet pc if ever i need to purchase one of those i think this looks promising ...

tomorrows the day the product gets unveiled... keen on hoping its not that big :D....

A dream no rather dreams

When I was in India I had a plan ... I had even charted it out....

I wanted to explore the vastness of my country, yes.
To visit and the various regions of my country to explore every possible terrain that is this motherland of me and a million others. I wanted to touch the hearts of those millions, wanted to see how they smile with what they have, wanted to see how they brave the tears and wanted to see how they struggle. I didnt want to stay in a hotel. My plan consisted of hanging out at the stations! You see I had this timetable of the long distance trains in India. Just as a game I would visualise myself on a ride on the konkan express, or the kanyakumari express, the rajdhani or the eastern express. I even charted out an itinerary consisting of which stations to visit which trains to catch from the stations and where next to head towards. My plan involved going down south, then travelling as east as Calcutta( it was so then) and ride the trains via patna to Delhi, from Delhi ride back through Rajasthan and baroda to Bombay.

I used to watch a lot of this series called Amazing Race, its this series that got me wanting to travel my country, learn more about what I have in this country that I can so easily take for granted. I wanted to capture the essence of my motherland in my mind so I can never forget the feeling. I wanted to capture the various sunrises and sunsetsm the dawns and the morning dew in different languages and different meanings, with each having a story of a king, a pauper or a legendary reformer behind it. I wanted to capture it in all its soul in my mind my heart and a camera.

Unfortunately I didnt have the money first, then I didnt get the time, and now Im not in my country. But its a self contention based promissary mental note to myself that I will for one do this.

The thought of money even put me to thinking of coming up with a
unique series of my own.
I visualized a singing contest based on the theme of nationality and peace between India and Pakistan. A train trip contest wherein groups, bands and music artists of regions and areas that I would visit would perform their songs and their music on the base of this theme, with every region having its own winner who will later on come on a national front. The theme would be extended to pakistan and the overall contest winner would be be able to perform at a national day for a peace concert. This theme contest of mine got partially fulfilled, not even remotely closely by me or any of my relatives, but by the people at channel [V] in the form of other programmes such as Popstars, V- Independence Rail, etc.

How I wish I had taken it seriously with my friends.

Oh why you ask the sudden nostalgia? I happened to come across the blog of Indiauncut and the author's recent visit to Pakistan to follow up and report on the Indian Cricket team. The blog is really stirring and is really What I had dreamt of, like travelling to places and getting in touch with people. He even gets to go the all mighty Khyber Pass. It's really great. His blog and the pictures he has taken and also his style.

On a second note, as to the reason for this nostalgia. Two movies and a song. The first one is the current rave of the youth of India and is an amazing movie with a very interesting theme. The other is/was a rave of the people of India who arent anymore in India and are contemplating going back, this movie though a bit cheesy with a romance line that actually ends with a filmy happy ending was my favorite flick, and my family's most superflous waste of money flick of the year, no prize to guess why (they are in India and I am away). The song by the way is this, a recompilation of an Rabindranath Tagore by AR Rahman with collaboration of many classical artists from India, also known as the national anthem of the Republic of India, its a song that overwhelmed me as I played it yesterday.

Currently listening to Jiya Dhadhak Dhadhak by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan... wandering in my mind through the unknown streets of Des wishing I was Bono.

As I sleep a country awakens....( its just a thought .. no revolutionary speech this)

Thank you God!!!
You have to watch this movie... its a funny movie which is structured the pulp fiction. My pal has a thing for following any writer or any actor .... so as we exhausted off a series of layer cake, snatch, lockstock n 2 smokin barrels, even trainspotting we then turned on to a different author... someone i think who is connected to seinfeld in someway ....

anyways this movie rates better than the 6 that imdb has in it .. maybe 7.5 .. do watch it

The Beatles -- Eight days a week

Ooh I need your love babe,
Guess you know it’s true.
Hope you need my love babe,
Just like I need you.
Hold me, love me, hold me, love me.
Ain’t got nothin’but love babe,
Eight days a week.

Love you ev’ry day girl,
Always on my mind.
One thing I can say girl,
Love you all the time.
Hold me, love me, hold me, love me.
Ain’t got nothin’but love babe,
Eight days a week.

Eight days a week
I love you.
Eight days a week
Is not enough to show I care.

Ooh I need your love babe, ...

Eight days a week ...

Love you ev’ry day girl,
Always on my mind.
One thing I can say girl,
Love you all the time.
Hold me, love me, hold me, love me.
Ain’t got nothin’but love babe,
Eight days a week.

Eight days a week. eight days a week. eight days a week.

tanki tanki tanki tanki tanki tank tingi tingi tingi tingi tingi tang

Saw rdb... only one thing on my mind
0900 78601 telefun telefun.....

to all those who are like me away from civilization but yet with a 10 mbps line, you will surely understand what that is.
to the others... yeah well this is an inside joke and you will not get it .. but heres a hint .. all-out macchar eating japanese in all of the shemaroos.

PS. oh yeah .. movie is really odd... maybe its the quality of the flick i saw ... i barely could make out the character names .. forget the dialogues .. but thats what you get to enjoy 10 - 15 feet of snow so far. I liked the song roobaroo a lot but the placement in the movie made me give a thought to the lyrics... i just wished they couldve picturized it a bit better. rest all nice nice ... the shift from the flick to the flick
in flick and back to the original flick was used so extensively that it turned out to be too trippy ... aah shizzled the izzle of maah eyes

thoughts

Im implementing a geometric constraint satisfaction algorithm .....
when I came across a simple text that said .... constraints exist in our every day life ... and that we dont need a large computation to decide whether we want to splurge on a ski vacation or eat a triple layered chocolate cake ... can you believe that!!!! .... the brain .... decides ... it freaking solves all the constraints .. the cells work it out for us .. heck even when im writing this .. some freaking cell is asking my fingers to type ... this out ... geez .... amazing algorithm .. most efficient one .. and the most accurate constraint solving system ...

..... on a lighter note ......
saw phoebe freak out ross's belief's in evolution and his liking for work just cos he nagged her a lot about evolution ... really trippy the way she works on him ...

Watch him do it here
Kobe Bryant's 81 against the Raptors at the Staples Center LA.

And the man only states that he felt real pleasure when magic called him and said he was proud of his game....

Sania Mirza

She lost her second round match to the sister of Richard Krajicek , a young player called Michella Krajicek...

I like her, for the sport, for the things shes done in the name of Indian Tennis, I believe because of her at least 100 Indian girls mustve taken up the sport seriously. Good thing girl. Its inspiration like yours that binds the hopes of a hazar others. In fact apart from Akio Nakamura, shes the only other Asian girl in womens tennis, n Akio is ranked below her. So that makes her the best Asian female tennis player. Thats nice ...

Although we all would have loved to have her sailing through the rounds at Australian Open, I think its nice to be defeated once early in the season ... cos then the comeback is a fierce one. So heres to hoping that youd crack it hard at the french n the wimbledon n american...n the australian next year....The press at AO were real nice to her this time around, the reviews for her and the hopes that the international press have from her is a real relief n better hope than the "rave reviews" that the indian press keeps on coming out with.

And to all the pervs ... go fyf something from hippys blog ....

khalbali

Rahman coming up with good numbers again ...
khalbali is cool passionate n powerful ..... the arabic tunes makes me wonder though
Pathshala is damn kiddish but is awesome to listen to....this one very vividly a sound from boys.
Rang De basanti is the punju types..

bollywood of late has been totally influenced by the brit punjus n the paki poprock scene... its good as a lot of the stereotypical "bollywood song listeners" are getting exposed to a different sound and as a matter of fact because these songs are lipsynched by our lukkhas like that eemran hashme fella or even abhishek b n aamir makes em appreciate the variance from the mainstream.... good for bollymusic.... up your **s bappi!!!!

i guess for the first time rahman has a mix n match album .. mixing the traditional sounds like that of songs of the calibre of lagaan or swades with those of the type of boys n yuva

thats kinda sad for me as now i cant tell the story of the movie without actually watchin it ...

well..... paint it yellow ...

*Listening to Strings - Zinda Hoon*

Im seriously thinking of creating my own podcast ... its something that I always wanted ....
On some really beautiful weekend when Im done with my thesis.. I will be publishing my podcast....right now all i can add is just a couple of posts in between .....

*recent event
me passing everyone on my way to home at a speed of 75 on a limit of 55
I zero on on my next target... a lil black dot in the horizon...
so the speed ramps up 55 60 65 70 75 .. the dot becomes more like a car
suddenly the car brakes ...I see its red lights .. sensing something goofy I slow down... 58..
the car pulls over on the curb ..
and in between the red brake lights of a dark blue car I see the white words "state police"

next 20 mins the brute chevy beretta with no radar detection is forced to be driven like a mouse with a blue escort ...phew !!!

the cop was nice enough not to pull me over .. I guess christmas is still being celebrated somewhere....
